Public involvement is a very important part of the Kings Highway PD&E study. FDOT is using several methods for providing information to and receiving information from project stakeholders including public officials, agencies and interested citizens. They include this website, newsletters, presentations to neighborhoods, small groups and organizations, an alternatives public meeting and a formal public hearing.
These meetings helped us identify issues for concern and potential solutions. The alternatives public meeting was held on March 8, 2018. The Public Hearing was held on November 7, 2019. At the hearing, we presented the preferred alternative and the no-build alternative. The FDOT Office of Environmental Management approved the PD&E Study on March 14, 2021.
