The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One is completing a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study of a 2.2-mile segment of County Road (CR) 769 (Kings Highway) from South Kingsway Circle in Charlotte County to Peace River Street in DeSoto County. The project limits are shown on the location map below. The study evaluates widening the two-lane road to a four-lane divided highway to handle future expected traffic.
The preferred build alternative was presented to the public at a public hearing held Thursday, November 7, 2019. Please see the Public Involvement page for more information on the public hearing.
